The aims of this project on FAIR Research Information in Open infrastructures (FAIRIO) of the State Scientific and Technical Library of Ukraine (SSTL) and the German National Library of Science and Technology (TIB) are to establish a collaboration between the two institutions in order to prepare new project-related or institutional collaborations with regard to information and communication technologies. For this purpose, the project partners present their current R&D activities in order to benefit from the acquired knowledge and experience of the respective other institution. Based on a roadmap and recommendations to be developed in joint workshops the aim is to let this lead to project collaborations in the future.

Description

The demand for and the importance of research information for various use cases in the scientific world is increasing. Furthermore, the FAIR movement is gaining momentum. FAIR refers to the findability, accessibility, interoperability and reusability of research data. These principles can also be applied to research information. These two developments merge in the area of research evaluation and the underlying information base.

FAIRIO aims to address these issues in the context of a dialogue between Ukraine and Germany. In various discourse formats, such as workshops, the SSTL and TIB seek to exchange ideas. Together, a roadmap will be developed that guides the way to FAIR research information in open infrastructures.
