Software and Services for Science (S3) – successful completion of Second Conference on Non-Textual Information

80 experts gather in Hannover to discuss the topic of scientific software

Scientific software was the focus of the Second Conference on Non-Textual Information under the title “Software and Services for Science (S3)”, held in Hannover on 10 and 11 May 2017. For two days, the 80 participants explored topics such as the sustainability and referencing of scientific software, trends in programming practice, legal aspects and software sharing. The conference recordings centred around finding answers to questions concerning the wide range of challenges surrounding scientific software and to presenting potential approaches for dealing with software in research – as well as identifying new aspects.

TIB hosted the English-language conference in collaboration with its partners ZB MED – Information Centre for Life Sciences and ZBW – Leibniz Information Centre for Economics. L3S Research Centre supported the conference in the area of programme planning.
