Ariam Rivas

Research Assistant

I am a doctoral student with a DAAD scholarship and research assistant in the Scientific Data Management research group at the TIB. I hold a master degree (MSc.) in Applied Mathematics and Informatics for Management from the University of Holguin, Cuba. My bachelor degree (BSc.) was in Computer Engineer (Graduated with Honors) from the University of Holguin, Cuba. My doctoral research is Computational and Human-based methods for knowledge discovery over Knowledge Graphs. My previous research experiences are in Population Meta-heuristics, Machine learning (supervise learning), Statistical and Rough Set Theory (Multi-Granulation).

Research

My research focuses are in the areas of:

  • Machine learning approaches, knowledge discovery over Knowledge Graphs
  • Semantic Web, Knowledge Graphs and Big Data Management

I am also collaborating in two EU-funded projects: iASiS, Big Data for Precision Medicine and BigMedilytics, Big Data for Medical Analytics.
