    Abstract Results are presented on strange particle channel and reaction cross sections in 5 GeV/c π +p collisions. For the (quasi-) two body reactions π+ p →Σ+ K +, π+ p →Σ+ K ∗+ (890), π +p→Σ +(1385)K+ and π+ p →Σ+(1385) K ∗+(890) the differential cross sections and spin density matrix elements are given. A2 0 and t0 production in the (K K )0 mode is estimated using a technique which eliminates A 2 0 f 0 interference. Proton dissociation into strange particle pairs is investigated. A comparison is made of some of our reactions with their SU(3)-symmetric K N counterparts.
