A device for coupling a radio-frequency image converter to a video display over a wide range of time bases is described. The unit for shaping sawtooth frame and line voltages and sync pulses uses digital integrated circuits of series 155 and 572 and provides independent octave tuning of quartz-crystal regulated scanning rates of from 625 to 39 lines for frame-pulse widths of from 20 to 320 msec. The potential values of resolution and sensitivity in a system for high-speed visual display of microwave fields are achieved by selecting the optimum scanning conditions.
