The international conference SEMANTiCS 2019 on Linked Data and Semantic Web will take place in Karlsruhe from 9 to 12 September 2019. The conference is a meeting point for experts to discuss current projects, challenges and developments in the field of Linked Data and Semantic Web. Under the motto "The Power of AI and Knowledge Graphs", this year the focus will be on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and knowledge graphs.
Staff members of the TIB – Leibniz Information Centre for Science and Technology will be represented with the following contributions:
"Workshop Open Research Knowledge Graph" (Sören Auer, Markus Stocker, Kheir Farfar, Manuel Prinz) on 9 September 2019 from 9:00 to 17:30. This workshop will give an overview on the initiative for the development of an Open Research Knowledge Graph (https://orkg.org), which captures semantically structured information about scientific contributions in order to facilitate novel forms of exploration and assistance for scholarly communication.
- "Workshop on Approaches for Making Data Interoperable (AMAR)" (Lucie-Aimée Kaffee, Kemele M. Endris, Maria-Esther Vidal) on 9 September 2019 from 9:00 to 12:30. Among other things, the workshop will deal with different communities’ needs for data sets, tools reusing different data formats, best practices for processing heterogeneous data, and the importance of multilingual data.
- "Interaction Network Analysis Using Semantic Similarity based on Translation Embeddings" (Awais Manzoor Bajwa (University of Bonn), Diego Collarana (Fraunhofer Institute for Intelligent Analysis and Information Systems IAIS) and Maria-Esther Vidal (TIB)) in the session "Knowledge Discovery & Semantic Search", which takes place on 10 September 2019 from 10:30 to 12:00
- Panel Discussion "The Power of Knowledge Graphs and AI" with TIB Director Prof. Dr. Sören Auer on 10 September 2019 from 12:15 to 13:15.
