Dr. Bastian Drees from the Technische Informationsbibliothek (TIB) – German National Library of Science and Technology will give a talk entitled “OSGeo recordings of conferences in TIB’s AV-Portal” at the FOSSGIS conference 2017 (22 to 25 March 2017) in Passau. During the lecture, he will explain how scientific resources such as recordings of conferences are stored long-term in TIB’s AV-Portal and how they can be used innovatively. The online portal already contains around 600 video recordings – with a total running time of some 300 hours – of the FOSSGIS conferences held between 2011 and 2016 and of the FOSS4G conferences 2013, 2015 and 2016. The recordings have been archived permanently and are freely available to all those interested.

About the FOSSGIS conference
The FOSSGIS conference is the largest German-language conference for Free and Open Source Software for GIS (geographic information systems) and the topics of Open Data and OpenStreetMap. Featuring its AV-Portal, TIB is present at this year’s FOSSGIS as a media partner: after the close of the event, recordings of the conference will be available in TIB’s AV-Portal.
