Most of the lectures delivered at the Copyright Conference 2017 are now available as video recordings in the AV-Portal of the Technische Informationsbibliothek (TIB) – German National Library of Science and Technology. The conference took place in Hannover on 26 January 2017. Videos of the remaining lectures will be gradually added to the AV-Portal.

The Copyright Conference, held under the heading “Online education in 2017 between Open Access, Section 52a of the German Copyright Act and publishers’ services”, focused on key issues concerning copyright in academia. Experts discussed the exception in copyright law in favour of science and education – Section 52a of the German Copyright Act (UrhG) – which, under certain conditions, permits third party copyright material to be made available electronically at universities.

The event was hosted by TIB, the e-Learning Service Department (elsa) and the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Leibniz Universität Hannover.
