TIB has been offering in-depth, varied apprenticeships and internships in the field of librarianship and bookbinding for many years. As the largest specialised library of science and technology in the world and as a large university library catering also for the humanities and social sciences, the library offers apprentices, student trainees and interns a comprehensive insight into the different work routines of a library. The great range and depth of the target groups served by TIB and the tasks it performs are reflected in its apprenticeships. Those who complete their apprenticeship at TIB are exceedingly well prepared for a career in librarianship, and have every chance of entering the job market.
Until further notice, the Circulation Desk at the TIB Technology/Natural Sciences site is only open from Monday to Friday from 13:00 to 15:00. At the TIB Sozialwissenschaften (Social Sciences) and TIB Conti-Campus sites, lending and returning items is possible Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 15:00 and registration from 10:00 to 12:00. The reading rooms at the TIB Conti-Campus site are open to a limited number of people Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 15:00; all other TIB sites and reading rooms remain closed.
