Practical semester - higher intermediate civil service

Training for the higher intermediate civil service mainly takes place in the form of studying at a university of applied sciences, which involves integrated practical phases.
On the Bachelor programme in Information Management at Hannover University of Applied Sciences and Arts, for example, the 4th semester is set aside for a longer internship.

Each year, TIB offers up to three places for students to complete their practical semester as part of their degree programme in Information Management (focusing on scientific libraries) or comparable degree courses. The practical semester runs from February to July. During your internship, you'll familiarise yourself with the entire library and will also be able to attend classes and database exercises.

Applications including a Curriculum Vitae, your school-leaving certificate and summary of achievements, and any internship or employment references, should reach us by the end of August in the year prior to the internship.

For the second practical phase, you must agree on a specific topic or project with the responsible team leader before applying by submitting the above-mentioned documents.
