More than 20 videos from the Lower Saxony State Office for the Preservation of Monuments Leibniz Information Centre for Science and Technology. Thanks to the newly concluded media partnership between the two organisations, interested viewers can now use the online platform to access a selection of videos from the NLD, the central state agency for overarching tasks of monument preservation in Lower Saxony.
“The lectures provided by the Lower Saxony State Office for the Preservation of Monuments are an interesting addition to our AV-Portal, covering topics such as Palaeolithic sites, moor trails in Lower Saxony, and 17th century brewing practices,” explained Margret Plank, who heads the Lab Non-Textual Materials at TIB and is responsible for the AV-Portal.
The lectures with titles such as “Neanderthals in Lower Saxony”, “Forest elephants, throwing sticks and sabre-toothed cats. The Schöningen site” and “Commoners’ brewing in the Middle Ages and early modern period”, which are part of the “Monday Lectures” series, shed light on various aspects of monument preservation and conservation in Lower Saxony. There are plans to publish additional NLD videos and lectures on the AV-Portal in the future, where they will be visible worldwide. But not only that, users will also be able to search for the videos easily, cite from them to the second and, thanks to digital preservation, use them at any time in the future.
TIB’s AV portal provides the NLD with a sustainable and high-quality environment for its multimedia scientific content,” stated Tobias Wulf, NLD Press Officer, who is looking forward to further cooperation.
