TIB presents two lectures at the 10th Wildau Library Symposium

Applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) methods in libraries

The library symposium "Innovation and RFID" was held for the tenth time in Wildau on 12 and 13 September 2017. This year, the focus was on the application of AI methods in libraries.

While the first day was devoted to digital change in general and robotics in particular, the second day was devoted to semantic indexing using AI methods. Prof. Dr. Ralph Ewerth from the Technische Informationsbibliothek (TIB) – German National Library of Science and Technology gave a lecture on "Deep Learning for the automatic annotation of images and videos – better than the human being?" and Dr. Anna Kasprzik (TIB) gave a lecture on "TEASER https://www.tib.eu/– Development of a platform for collaborative thesaurus maintenance and linking in the field of industry 4.0". Dr. Anna Kasprzik also moderated the second day of the conference.

The time was almost too short for the lively discussions, and it became clear that the attention and sensitivity for this topic area is also growing in the library sector.
