Theories of continental drift are examined by means of comparison of fitting or diverging metallogenic belts, provinces and periods; whereas evidence derived from this one field of geology supports theories on continental drift in many instances, other areas do not show satisfactory coincidences in time and space or even missing links and information; persistence of certain metals in certain regions during long periods of earths' history may be taken as another argument for origin of metals in wandering crust and not in mantle below.
