We derive a novel algorithm which can judge out whether the output of the simple detector reliable or not for MIMO detection. In our detection, the initial estimates are obtained by the simple detector, judged by reliability judge rule (RJR) with a threshold. If the estimate satisfies the RJR, we consider the estimate as the final result. Otherwise, the estimates will be through the advanced detector for further improvement. We also give two methods to compute the threshold of RJR, using which we can achieve near the performance of the advanced detector at greatly reduced complexity. Simulation results prove the performance of the proposed algorithm, and the performance-complexity tradeoff can be achieved by adjusting the threshold of RJR. (3 pages)
