The physical and mechanical performances of iron-resin composites can be suited to meet the needs of particular applications by the proper selection of iron particle size, resin content and also of compacting conditions (temperature, pressure). The total plastic content can be also adjusted, a lower plastic content yields to higher pressed density and higher plastic contents improve strength and high frequency performances. From the compacting point of view (pressure and pressing temperature) these must be chosen with regard to acceptable limits for resistivity, remanent induction and permeability. The increase in density and resistivity provided by warm compacting process yields to improved magnetic properties and so to good performances for frequency applications.
