High-energy treatment of metallic construction materials is commonly accepted as an efficient measure to improve the quality of machine elements used in to-day mechanical engineering. A scheme for combined processing of metallic machine elements (surface hardening, thermal treatment, cutting, shaping) was elaborated. The scheme includes both mechanical devices (maintaining the machine parts, supply of auxilliary media), an electric block (energy supply both for driving and thermal treatment) as well as a programmed microprocessor control (product quality, energy consumption). A proportional-integral-differential control model (algorithm) was developed. The method was exemplified by surfacing by welding (conjugated with a plastic deformation of the surface) as well as abrasive disk or magnetic-abrasive machining of machine parts in an electromagnetic field.
