Braking process condition of electric bicycles is crucial importance to its safe driving behavior. Based on the Newton's law and basic principle of kinematics, the main objective of this paper is to predict the reasonable range of deceleration and to analyze the maximum safe speed when operated within the non-motor vehicle lanes, then to discuss the influence of driving parameters of electric bicycles, including loading, deceleration and braking initial speed, on safe braking process. The analysis results show that the maximum safe driving speed of electric bicycle should not be more than 22km/h and the running velocity of existed electric bicycles will result in the collision traffic accident. The driving parameters of deceleration and braking original speed will impose great influence on the security braking process. By contrary, the loading parameter has nearly no effect on safe braking process. So the current specification could relax the requirements for gravity and load parameters appropriately without affecting the handling and comfort of driving conditions. The research results provide a theoretical basis for electric bicycle production standards and present a reference for the formulation of relevant traffic laws and regulations.
