Sustainability, ultra fine yarns, texture, bold contrasted with pallid colours and cottons blended with silk and cellulosic for slippery and drapey qualities were among the trends at PVP (Première Vision Pluriel), Paris, France. It sees itself as the major stimulant to the fashion industry's creative energies and the galvaniser of international markets. PV (Première Vision), Expofil, Indigo, Mod'Amont, Zoom, Le Cuir à Paris; these 6 Paris shows are owned by PVP. These 6 shows now cover textiles, yarns, spinning, flat bed knitters, original textile design, accessories, Euro-Mediterranean and Indian Ocean garment sourcing and leather. The organisers acknowledge that there are signs of instability and fragility in the global economy but the strategy to adapt to industry needs is proving successful. Luxury and international markets with their enthusiasm for creative ideas power the success of these Paris events. Eco-friendly, eco-responsibility and fair trade are increasingly major requirements. Creativity and inventiveness were pushed forward for spring-summer 2015. The main PV themes were: air currents, the novel use of ultrafine yarns and new constructions, enveloping emptiness, full and super-light types where rigidity is lost in roundness, qualities that are soft and fold, floating fineness, transparency and paleness prominent. PV' 740 textile exhibitors were more numerous than pre-financial crisis records. PV admits only a few new companies each season and each is rigorously selected. This edition brought 25 new participants, 15 weavers, 4 knitting companies and 4 flatbed knitters.
