IM150, 1 MW gas turbine cogeneration plant which is developped by IHI, consists of an electric generator driven by an aeroderivative MAKILA - TI of TURBOMECA Co., France and a heat recovery boiler. In 1989, the first unit was installed as the test plant in TOKYO. As of end July 1992, five sets of IM150 cogeneration plant have been delivered, and successful operating experience have been accumulated. During this period, two types of improvements have been carried out to meet Japanese regulations. One is introduction of the water injection, the other is modification of plant dynamic characteristics such as starting time, load acceptance capability. Through the test and operation experience, performance, emission and reliability of the plant have been confirmed and it is proved that the system is highly efficient and has a high reliability enough for use in power generation field. It was proved that the IM150, 1 MW gas turbine cogeneration plant has excellent efficiency and reliability. Further improvements on reliability and availability are planned by introducing preventive maintenance and on-line compressor washing to reduce shutdown.
