The combustion chamber fitted to several four stroke and highspeed diesel engines of different data (for industrial applications and for road vehicles) is described. The determination of aims to reach and reefs to let out in order to design this chamber is the result of experimental testing on numerous types of known engines and of the construction during several years of a pre-chamber type engine. Air swirl is important near the top dead center, and slight during the remainder of the piston stroke. The air temperature is increased by a ring fitted on the edge of the combustion chamber and by the exhaust valve installed in the bottom of this combustion chamber. The walls of the chamber and the injection nozzle are well surrounded with water. Special disposition of the different parts in order to obtain a good accessibility and a long service without troubles is necessary. Considered are: - performance ratings; - tests and researches in order to settle the space occupied by the combustion chamber in the total volume of the compression chamber and to determine the compression ratio, the injection timing, the position of fuel jets; - utilization of different fuels (fuel oil, vegetable oil, alcohol).
