The cyclic deformation behaviour of Ti-6Al-4V alloy heat treated at temperatures over and under its beta-transus has been studied. The fatigue specimens were cyclically deformed in tension-compression under strain control R=-1 with total strain amplitude of cyclic plus/minus 5x10-3. Specimens heat treated at 900 deg C and water quenched had higher fatigue lives to the other treatments. This fact is due to present a greater amount of metastable beta and this phase can induce martensite when is strained, this produces a slow crack propagation .
