Designing a Process-Based IT Organization - IT organizations in process-based firms no longer merely support the business -- They are an integral part of the business. IT leaders therefore need to develop new sets of IT processes and disciplines to align the IT organization with the business. Some of the challenges to be addressed when evolving to a process-based IT organization include working under complex structures, devising new metrics, making coordination "natural," and building a new mix of internal and external IT expertise.
