Forty-two factors affecting construction costs and their degree of importance were evaluated. Technical Articles - Prequalifications and Qualified Tendering Group: A Perspective from Hong Kong Ground Investigation Industry - The pre-qualifying of a suitable number of contractors to enter bidding competitions has been prevalent within the construction industry for a long time. However, construction clients can become entangled with increased administrative costs and increased time use if the pre-qualification is carried out with too many bidders. In view of the specialist contractor's market, pre-qualification exists as a qualified tendering system that permits only approved contractors to enter a bidding competition. The Hong Kong ground investigation market is reviewed in this article to enhance a mathematical derivation of the qualified-tendering model.
