The document is one in a series of publications covering various aspects of past, present and future economic and social conditions in the state of Wisconsin. The first publication introduced 26 indicators; the second presented 17 new indicators and provided additional data for 8 of those previously introduced; the present one, third in the series, present 1970 data updated and in some cases new information for 26 of the indicators previously covered. The data connected with the indicators covers a period of ten years, whenever possible, and the geographical basis on which they are presented is the state uniform district. The report contains an analytical narrative regarding each of the indicators, tables of the data on which the indicators are based, and graphic illustrations wherever these aided in the presentation. In the narrative content an attempt has been made to identify causes of the various indicator trends, to examine their impact on one another, and, where possible, to draw some implications from them for the future.
