This study describes the mechanical fatigue performance of two different commercial dental implant groups. Titanium Plasma-Sprayed (TPS) and Sandblasted Large-grid and Acid-etched (SLA) dental implants were tested and the apical end of each implant was vertically embedded in epoxy-resin material up to 13 mm, the point it would reach if used in a real bone. A servohydraulic fatigue testing machine was used to apply a loading by a cylindrical metallic press with a rounded point tip of 0.5 mm diameter. The specimens were adjusted to an angle of 15 degrees and subjected to 2 Hz cyclic loading, for 600000 cycles. All specimens were subjected to complete testing procedure and were not observed cracks or fractures to radiographic and optical microscope observations.
