Conference program and abstracts for Fundamentals of Electronic Nanosystems, 25 June 2005 - 1 July 2005. The following topics will be discussed: electron transport in quantum electronic solids (quantum dots and wires, Josephson nanostructures, nanoscale granular arrays) and carbon nanotubes; nanoscopic superconductivity; quantum coherence and dephasing; quantum information processing; charging and strong correlation effects; semiconductor spintronic devices; nanomechanics; noise and fluctuations in nanostructures; transport in nanostructures under time-dependent fields; and quantum pumping. The physics of nanoscale devices is arguably the most promising and fast developed area of condensed matter physics. Rapid advances in materials and nanostructure technology as well as in low temperature techniques made possible investigating fundamental properties of condensed matter at the most extreme conditions. A deeper knowledge of such properties is a necessary condition and guarantee for the future of electronic devices which lies in the development of wide variety of ultra-small (nanoscale, which is a scale of a few atoms) new devices, such as carbon nanotubes, ballistic quantum dots, hybrid nanoscopic junctions made of different type of materials etc.
