A combustion mathematical model of single pulverized coal particle has been developed and the course of pulverized coal burning in different conditions has been simulated. The results of simulation agree well with the experimental data. It is possible to predict the combustion ratio of pulverized coal in blast furnace. The results show that the burning speed of pulverized coal particle would increase with increasing surrounding temperature, so that the burning time would be reduced. In blast furnace, the combustion ratio of pulverized coal particle is raised by increasing of blast temperature. The burning speed is raised and the burning time is reduced with the increasing of oxygen content in blast. With the increasing of the amount of pulverized coal in blast furnace, it is necessary to increase oxygen content in blast in order to raise the combustion ratio. Reducing diameter of pulverized coal particle can reduce the burning time.
