Study - From Starch to Glucose: HYDROLYSIS OF TUBEROUS ROOT BY Bacillus cereus - The hydrolysis of starch to glucose by Bacillus cereus is studied. The raw material for starch is taken from tuberous root (Cyperus rotundus). The selection of this material is due to easiness in availability and value of negligible cost. In this study, by varying the concentration of starch and pH, conversion of starch to glucose is determined. Experiments were carried in a well mixed reactor. The conversion with agitation in a batch reactor is compared with the conversion without agitation.
