Synthesis and controlled polymerization of p-(1-methylcyclohexyloxy)styrene and quick-responsible deblocking ability of the obtained polymer - Communication - Acid-catalyzed addition reaction of p-bromophenol with 1-methyl-cyclohexene, followed by nickel-catalyzed Grignard coupling with vinyl bromide affords the title monomer (PC6ST). PC6ST undergoes radical polymerization to yield poly(PC6ST) with narrow molecular weight distribution. The comparison of TGA and DSC data of poly(PC6ST) with those obtained from poly(p-tert-butoxystyrene) is presented in the Figure. Poly(PC6ST) undergoes fast hydrolysis to produce poly-(hydroxystyrene) in quantitative yields
