Tribological Behavior of Zirconia Toughed Alumina Sliding in Acid and Alkali Solutions Tribological properties of alumina-zirconia toughed alumina (ZTA) rubbing pairs were investigated in the solution of hydrochloric acid (HCl) and sodium hydroxide (NaOH). The worn surfaces were examined by using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Exfoliation Corrosion of Al-Mg-Sc Alloy The effect of trace Sc on the exfoliation corrosion of Al-Mg alloys was studied. The results showed that the exfoliation corrosion of alloy was depended on the content of Mg and heat treatment process. When Mg content was less than 5.5wt%, Al-Mg-Sc alloy had excellent exfoliation corrosion resistance. The strength of Al-Mg-Sc increased with increasing of Mg content, but decreased with increasing of stabilizing temperature. Corrosion Behavior of Copper Alloy in Seawater Corrosion behavior of Cu-2.9Sn-0.9Al alloy in seawater was studied by high speed rotating corrosion test, XRD, SEM, EDAX, and electrochemical method. Results showed the copper alloy with 2.9% Sn and 0.9% Al had excellent corrosion resistance in artificial seawater of pH=8.2 at ambient temperature. The high corrosion resistance was due to forming an oxidation film on the surface of alloy, which might affect both the anodic and cathodic process. The film was consisted of copper oxide and tin oxide and Cu-Al-Mg complex compound, whose synergetic effect made the porosity of oxide coating decreasing, thus avoided the local corrosion resulted by formation of local acidic areaZhao, N. / Luo, B.-h. / Bai, Z.-h. et al. | 2003
