In the thesis, the authors present an appropriate computational method for the modeling of full vectorial, three-dimensional, electromagnetic scattering problems. The authors shall restrict themselves to objects with electric contrast in their electromagnetic properties only. The basis of this method is the domain-integral formulation. The domain-integral equation that is obtained in its strong form is weakened by testing it with appropriate testing functions. This weak form is the operator equation to be solved by a CGFFT method. They first confine their attention to the electromagnetic scattering problem by an electrically perfectly conducting plate (of vanishing thickness). Once the problem has been solved, the problem of electromagnetic scattering by lossy inhomogeneous dielectric objects is investigated.
