The contract aims to optimize the separator-electrodes system by SPE type electrolysis in order to obtain the lowest cell stress possible. The realization characterization of the separator-electrode component necessitates: the choice of separators and catalysts; definition of the method of catalyst deposit; electrochemical tests of the separator-electrodes system. On the basis of information available, the following separators are considered: reinforced with 4-11% copolymer (4VP-DVB); polymers of polyfenylsulfurosulfonate (SPPS); and Nafion type membranes. A wide range of compounds of Ni, Zn, Co, Cz, B and S are considered for the catalysts. The choice of the separator catalyst is crucial in the development of the separator-electrode system.
