The results of studies carried out in the cytoarchi-tectonics and conducting. pathways, in the cytology and histochemistry of neural elements, and in the minute characteristics of the structure of neurons and interneural bonds of various sections of the central and peripheral neurvous system at various stages of intrauterine life and after birth in certain animals and humans, may serve as a basis for certain conclusions and generalizations relating to the general problem of the development of structure and function and ontogenesis. The data available to us and compared with the data in the literature enable us also to make a comparative analysis of the periods of emergent rates of development and maturation, and the peculiarities of structural differentiation of various neural formations which participate in the arrangement of the reflex activities of the organism.
