The recognition of objects on the basis of a continuous scalar features of the state is considered whose distribution parameters are random on the set of objects of each class. The proposed method of solution of this problem does not involve estimation of the distribution parameters; it is based on a new statistical goodness-of-fit test. This test does not depend on the form of the distribution function of the feature, and it is a powerful test. The use of the method is illustrated by examples.
