We studied the copolymerization of three monomer couples, butadiene/isoprene, butadiene/styrene, and isoprene/styrene, this copolymerization was initiated by suspensions of calcium, strontium or barium in toluence medium. The copolymerization ratios were determined in each case. The values obtained permit us to classify the reactivities of the three monomers toward the anionic species which are present. If the initiator used is calcium or strontium, isoprene is less reactive than butadiene but more than styrene. On the contrary if we use barium as a catalyst, styrene is more reactive than isoprene but less than butadiene. (TITUS).
