The strategy of a company with respect to the product range offered to the market must be based on an analysis of the different factors governing the costumer's demands. Innovations have to be introduced by development of new products and product lines, and by differentiating and diversifying the production. The methodological aspects of formulation of product policy of chemical fibre enterprises have been investigated in this article. The article provides consideration of product strategy aspects in management of the updating of products. The product strategy variety raises the problem facing the enterprise as to select the trend of assortment lines. The product strategy on assortment development has been proposed to select it depending on enterprise strategic objective, its competitive position, product life cycle stage, and others.
