A computer processing and analyzing technique of diesel spray field hologram has been developed by this paper. The technique is used to analyze and count droplet diameter density and spatial distribution. The diameter of droplet, 3-dimensional spatial coordinate of droplet centre are determined. At final, this paper provides the analyzing results and 3-dimensional curves about spatial density distribution drawn by computer. The results of combustion in diesel are restricted by the character of sprays to a great extent. For the purpose of how to improve the combustion results, it is necessary to study the combustion character, which has become one of the key problems in research of internal combustion engine. There are many complex characters of droplet in spray field and the combustion of sprays is a extremely complex process. Because not only the diameter of droplet is very thiny but also it's density is huge and the diameter of droplets changes dynamically, to detect the droplet fields is one of the most difficult problems in research of spray fields. Up to now, several detection techniques of spray fields have been reported. Using spray field hologram and image processing technique to detect the spray droplet diameter is a common method. Though some progress has been achieved, there is much deficiency waited for being solved. This paper advances a new method to analyze the spray field and gets detailed data about it. It can detect not only the diameter of droplet but also the 3-dimensional spatial coordinate of every droplet which has never been reported before. In this paper, the spray field hologram is converted to 2-dimensional spatial sequence images, then mapped to run length code by hardware, using DMA mode, the run length code is sent to computer to get various kinds of data. It is one of distinguishing feature and originality in this paper.
